Exciting Developments in 2023: A Recap of SAMBA's Fantastic Year So Far

As we approach the halfway point of 2023, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all of the great events and achievements that have occurred so far this year. We've had a busy start to the year, with a successful member drive, the opening of a new trail, some exciting races, and much more. 

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of the volunteers who have put in hard work to make our events and achievements possible. Your selfless dedication and tireless efforts are what make SAMBA such a vibrant and thriving community. 

Speaking of achievements, let me start by thanking all of the members who participated in our 2023 member drive. Your support and enthusiasm were truly inspiring. I am pleased to announce that we saw 125 new members sign up, making this year's member drive a huge success. 

In addition to our member drive, we also celebrated the opening of the new Prickly Pear trail at Holston Creek County Park. This trail has been a long time in the making, and we're thrilled to see it finally come to fruition. We hope that you've had a chance to check it out and enjoy it for yourselves. 

One of the highlights of our year so far was the annual Stumpjump XC race. This year, we had over 180 racers compete, and it was an amazing turnout. We're proud to see so many SAMBA members participating and representing our organization. 

Finally, I want to give a shout out to all of the SAMBA members who came out to socialize at the SAMBA tent during this year's Crit race in downtown Spartanburg. It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet some new ones as well. 

Once again, thank you to all of the volunteers who have contributed their time and energy to make our events and achievements possible. As always, we couldn't have done any of this without the support of our amazing SAMBA community. We're looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2023 has in store for us.
