Events & Group Rides in Spartanburg, SC | SAMBA

SAMBA hosts group rides, trail workdays, races, and socials all year long across Spartanburg and the Upstate of South Carolina. Whether you are brand new to mountain biking or chasing a podium, there is a ride on the calendar for you. Rides leave from local trailheads including Croft State Park, Holston Creek, and Duncan Park, and most weekly rides are free and open to the public.

Weekly & weekend group rides

Our regular group rides are organized by pace and skill level so nobody gets left behind. Beginner-friendly rides keep a relaxed pace and stop often to work on skills, while faster social and "drop-style" rides push the tempo for experienced riders. Bring a helmet, a mountain bike in good working order, plenty of water, and a spare tube. Ride leaders are SAMBA members who know the trails and can point you to the right loop for your ability.

Trail workdays

The trails we ride exist because volunteers build and maintain them. SAMBA schedules regular trail workdays where members clear downed trees, fix drainage, and cut new singletrack. No experience is needed, tools are provided, and a few hours of dig time is one of the best ways to give back to the local riding community.

Races & events

Each year SAMBA hosts the Stump Jump, a USMTB-sanctioned cross-country race at Croft State Park, along with seasonal socials and member appreciation events. Check the calendar below for upcoming dates, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for last-minute ride announcements and weather calls.
